I am excited to share that my orchestral work, The Colors of Spring, written in 2023, will have its North American premiere on May 20, 2025, in New York City, performed by the North/South Chamber Orchestra under the music director Max Lifchitz.
This work was originally commissioned by Sun Taipei Philharmonic and premiered in Taiwan last year. This three-movement vibrant piece is inspired by the themes of renewal and transformation, and in the third movement, I incorporated fragments from The Rite of Spring and Petrushka, as a tribute to Stravinsky’s contributions to modern music.
I am also grateful for the support from the Canada Council for the Arts and SOCAN Foundation through their travel grants, which makes my NYC trip possible.
